“I want to use dance to make a positive influence…by inspiring other dancers, especially other boys, to keep doing what they love…”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

“Dance has helped me become more confident in myself and embrace how unique I am.  When I am in the studio practicing I can forget about any essays or homework that I have to work on and just focus on myself and my growth as a dancer. It is amazing to me how dance reciprocates itself; the more you put into it the more you get back from it. It is a very rewarding experience which I want everyone to be able to see and experience for themselves.

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

I want to use dance to make a positive influence on my community by inspiring other dancers, especially other boys, to keep doing what they love and push themselves to reach their full potential. Sharing videos of the different pieces I have been in (on YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms) is one of my favorite ways to show how I have progressed in the hope of inspiring others. I think it is especially important to have good male representation in the dance community, coming from such a rural/old fashioned city.
