“… I enjoy the ability to take an older art form (tap) and blend it with new moves and modern music…to connect with many generations and help keep the style alive!”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has positively impacted my life in so many ways. I have made so many friends through dance and met so many talented people! Dance has given me confidence, strength, dedication, and teamwork skills. It also is a great stress reliever! When you go to the dance studio, you forget about all the problems and stresses in the outside world and can just dance.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

Dance is inspiring. I am an assistant teacher at the studio where I dance. I like to create a positive space and positive influence for the younger dancers. In the community, when we share dance, we bring everyone together, and we create joy and emotions through our movements and stories. Tap is one of my favorite styles of dance, I enjoy the ability to take an older art form and blend it with new moves and modern music. With tap, I am able to connect with many generations and help keep the style alive!
