Hey, January! It’s a new year. That means a new start, new focus, new mindset, new chances, and new sparkle! I can already tell this is going to be an amazing year. There are so many fashion possibilities in 2019, and I can’t wait to discover them all!

One thing that I always have with me is my dance bag. So, of course, my dance bag will be coming with me on this year’s fashion journey. Like any well-kept wardrobe, it needs an update! Here are some of my updated favorite fashion essentials that I will be carrying in my dance bag for 2019!

Of course, your dance bag should always have the basics like H2O, dancewear (all those lovely leos!), dance shoes, more dance shoes, warm-ups, hairspray, and snacks. But I want to share with you my extra favorite items that help to keep me prepared and stylish in and out of the studio!

These are the fun and fashionable additions you will find in my dance bag for the start of 2019!

Warm-Up Booties

These are my favorite item in my bag! Whether you call them moon boots, space shoes, or just plain booties, they are definitely helpful to keeping your ankles, feet, and toes warm before class, during warm-ups, between rehearsals, or at competitions. They are great to have handy with you in your dance bag, especially during the chillier seasons.

Fashion Warmups

If you love fashion and dance like me, then you love creating new looks all the time, pairing leotards with contrasting skirts and layering warm-ups with unique textures! Finding new and fashionable warm-ups to put over your dance clothes before class or performances can be challenging yet fun. There are no rules to fashion! May it be sweats, shirts, legwarmers, or trash-bag pants, it is always helpful to throw your go-to warm-ups in your dance bag in case you need them!

“Leave a little Sparkle wherever you go!”

Lucky socks

I like to consistently carry my favorite socks with me on the go to the studio. I just love warming up my feet in my lucky socks or putting them over my pointe shoes! Pick your personal favorite of fashionable patterns, prints, and colored socks to keep in your dance bag all the time!

Delicate Necklaces

Including lightweight jewelry in your dance look can be fun if your teacher allows it. Layering a delicate necklace over your leotard or adding some small earrings to your outfit can add that extra sparkle. I always carry my special necklace that says “New York” and my Royal Couture Crown necklace with me in my dance bag!

“This is your year to sparkle!”

Makeup Bag

A bag inside of a bag (LOL!). It’s always nice to carry some light makeup in your bag for touch-ups in case you sweat off anything during all your hard work in class or after your warmup before you take the stage if you are at a competition!

Showstopper Magazine!

This amazing magazine never fails to make me smile when I read it! It’s jampacked with dance and fashion inspiration. Plus you may even find an article on Royal Couture in the 40th Anniversary Edition! You can certainly find the latest edition inside my dance bag!

“Like waves washing on the shore, a new year brings new beginnings”
