As the sun starts to appear from beneath the clouds, a bright light is shining on the trends of a new season (and not just at golden hour!). It’s time to say, “Hello, Spring!” and get excited about florals, energetic colors, new hemlines, bright denim, and fashion-forward fits.

The transition from winter to spring is just as exciting for our closets as it is for the plants. Let’s check out three looks perfectly styled for spring (with some inspiration from my dancewear). Get ready to slay the sunshine!

Sunshine and Yellow Velvet

When I dream of spring, I always imagine dancing through flower fields with “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles playing. And, of course, this look. This look says spring time. Yellow is truly one the colors of the season. There is something so special about it. A vibrant shade will instantly make your outfit pop and put a smile on your face.

I paired my yellow velvet bodysuit with my favorite pair of denim high-rise jeans and white heeled booties (for added flair). For even more yellow tones, I accessorized with gold jewelry before adding some rainbow butterfly clips for a simple hairstyle. Hair accessories and other little details are what make an outfit complete!

In a spring trend roundup, Lauren Valenti, Senior Beauty Editor of Vogue said, “This spring I only want to wear things that spark joy,” and I completely agree. It’s time to pull your favorite pieces out of your closet (bonus points for bright colors), and get excited for happy days ahead.

Spring into Pink

Spring is calling! This fit is a super fun and fresh take on the trends currently popping up on social media and flooding my fashion inspo boards. The focus here? Lightening the layers! The days are getting longer, and the weather is getting warmer. Goodbye, heavy winter sweaters! It’s time for lighter, fashion staples like the knot top taking the fashion world by storm and the runway-favorite sweater vest. Knit tops are in, and there are so many exciting ways to style them.

For this look, I paired a hot pink sweater vest with a white tennis skirt. Tennis skirts are also a go-to this season. Mini, maxi, midi, you name it! Your favorite skirt just got even cooler. If you’re feeling something short like this tennis skirt, Vogue calls a “long leg” the “silhouette of the season,” and A-line minis and shorts are trending with designers like Donatella Versace, Miu Miu, Prada, and Chloe who are releasing skirts in their new collections. Casual or dressy, skirts are a chic element to add to every outfit. Pair them with a classic (though controversial) socks and sandals combo to make a high fashion statement.

Denim Flower Power

These boots were made for walking–actually, no. These boots were made for strutting into the spring season! Let’s finish with a classic. Denim is always in style, so let’s focus on tone to make our boots and a dress combo fresh for spring.

I started with a light wash denim dress over a white velvet bandeau top for a bright, crisp look. (Denim is neutral, but the light wash makes it a less heavy element of the look.) Now, with our “simple” denim fit, we can add a little bit of drama with high-key footwear. I chose a cute pair of cowgirl boots, but any shoes that are fun and funky would look awesome here. For those final touches, I accessorized with pearls to compliment the top and boots. For an obvious homage to spring, I couldn’t help but grab some flowers.
