Today, December 13th, 2017, there is going to be a spectacular meteor shower that you won't have a chance to witness again until next year! So, grab all of your star-loving BFFs and grab a spot where you can look at the sky. The meteor shower, called The Geminid, appears every year in December as the Earth passes through a dust cloud in space. Space debris in that cloud burn up in the atmosphere and give us a gorgeous shower to look at!

There are few things more special than an interstellar event, but it gets better! This year, the source of the shower will be the closest it has ever been since 1983 when it was discovered. That means tonight you will be witnessing a meteor shower that could lead to amazing new scientific discoveries.

What are you waiting for? Grab some hot chocolate and find a dark place to sit and look at the sky! 💫
