How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance allows me to be active, socialize, and to be more creative. I can show emotion through my moves and music. Dance helps build confidence and self-esteem. Dance has enlightened my ability to enjoy what I love most. I am lucky to dance. I dance for those who can’t. I have a younger sister who suffers from CMT, it is a rare genetic disease. She looks up to me, has wishes to fulfill, and what wish she is unable to, I will. It has made me stronger. Dance pushed me to want to reach the top for those who cannot. It has allowed me to show and express emotion, push me harder to be the best that I can be.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

Dance is a form of expression. It promotes a social outlet for me, brings me closer to others who share a common interest. Dance teaches me teamwork, the ability to mentor my younger peers. My studio is a safe place that I can call home, where I can grow, develop, and build positive relationships.
