Alyssa Wesley is a 12-year-old dancer from Buffalo, New York. She dances at The 716 Dance Lab.

“…when I dance I feel like a completely different person. The dance studio and the stage is my second home.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has had a positive impact on me because I get to be who I want to be at the studio and on stage. I am very shy in public especially with new surroundings, but when I dance, I feel like a completely different person. The dance studio and the stage is my second home.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I would love for all the kids to know no matter how many classes you take or what you take, if your having a hard time in school or at home, dance could be a safe place, your happy place to be.
