Tianna Hartin-Kovy is a 15-year-old dancer from Bellevue, Nebraska. She dances at American Midwest Ballet School.

“I hope that with the joy I’ve found through dance, I can help inspire others.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has made me who I am today. It has taught me kindness, professionalism, and discipline. Dance is my escape from everyday stress. When I dance, I just let go.

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

With mental health being such an important subject for young and old alike, dance can be such an important form of therapy. When working with other dancers, I always talk about how you can use this as an outlet to express feelings when words are hard to find. Channeling different emotions will help you work through the things to help in daily life. I hope that, with the joy I’ve found through dance, I can help inspire others.
