“I want to use dance to bring a smile to people’s faces. Dance not only entertains, but it brings people together and helps them spread happiness.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has positively impacted my life in many ways. It has allowed me to meet new people and make lifelong friends. I have also grown more confident in myself and my abilities because of it. Lastly, it has provided me [with] a space to truly be myself. I can express feelings I would not know how to express through words, and I can escape the daily stress of work and school. Dance has helped me become the person I am today.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I want to use dance to bring a smile to people’s faces. Especially in today’s world, everyone needs a reminder that there is beauty and happiness within life, and I believe dance can prove this. During Christmas time, we usually perform at nursing homes and it makes me so happy to see them [smiling] and happy during the winter season. Dance not only entertains, but it brings people together and helps them spread happiness.
