Fashion influencer Jessica Wang attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival this week, and while all of her looks have been, expectedly, stunning, on Wednesday the gown she wore on the red carpet in support of amfAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research) was one we couldn’t stop talking about.
The Valdrin Sahiti gown from the designer’s 2022 wedding collection is dropping in pearls and sequins, adding additional drama to the plunging front and fairytale sleeves and long train.
In a series of Instagram stories highlighting the event, Jessica called the look “one of [her] fav dresses,” and while we aren’t planning to wear intricate wedding gowns all summer, this look does give us a sudden urge to collect pearls.
Jessica isn’t the only one loving pearls. Spring/Summer 2022 looks at fashion week in September included plenty of pearl details from bags to jacket cuffs to pearl statement rings. We love pearls with chunky chain-link necklaces and 90s-style chokers. A classic pearl necklace is also the perfect addition to any “clean girl” looks you might be trying out this season. For everyday wear, pearls with a bit of an edge fit in well with Y2K looks, and if you’re still busy trying to be the diamond in your personal Bridgerton fantasy, you can definitely use pearls to pull off your regency-adjacent style.
