We’re all spending a lot more time in front of screens right now, watching TV, keeping up with the news, and trying out social media challenges. Unfortunately, browsing Netflix categories and hunting for new dances on TikTok’s “For You” page can get boring pretty quickly.

So we created a challenge to make things a bit more interesting, a list of twenty dance TV shows, competitions, movies, and documentaries to keep your day-to-day entertaining and full of dance! We included our new favorites, current must-watch shows, and even some dance throwbacks.

TV Shows

Cheer: One of the most popular reality TV shows this year, Cheer is high-energy and filled with drama. Watch on Netflix.
Dance Moms: Whether you’ve been keeping up with all of the teams, moms, and dancers on Dance Moms since the beginning or you just jumped in for the reunion season, you know there’s nothing quite like this reality show drama. Watch on Lifetime, Hulu, and YouTube.
Glee: High school drama, memorable mash-ups, and song and dance–what more could you ask for!? Watch on Netflix, YouTube, iTunes, and Amazon Prime.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: Musical theatre and Disney fans everywhere are loving HSMTMTS and it’s cast of teen dancers and singers. Go Wild Cats! Watch on Disney Plus.
Step Up: High Water: When twin dancers Janelle and Tal find their lives shaken up as they prepare to graduate high school, they find themselves in Atlanta with an opportunity to dance in one a prestigious performing arts school, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy to get in. Competitions

Showstopper Classics: Showstopper is traveling back in time to show you how your parents, teachers, and even some of the biggest dancers in the industry today used to compete. This new throwback series of the 1995-2006 American Dance Championships, the Showstopper Classics, comes straight from our VHS tape vault. Watch on YouTube and Facebook.
SYTYCD: Do you remember when Nick Lazzarini won the very first season of So You Think You Can Dance? From Nick to Bailey Muñoz becoming the first b-boy to win in Season 16, a trip back into SYTYCD‘s epic performance history is always a great time. Watch on Fox.
