“Dance is a way of radiating and connecting our emotions with others. Dance puts a smile on my face…”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

As a college student and developing young adult, life can be pretty stressful and overwhelming. Dance continues to be an emotional outlet for me to freely express myself. Rather this be through improv or taking classes, it has taught me to be myself and love the way my body moves. I personally think dance has molded me into the person I am today. It continues to give me the opportunity to move and feel my artistic gift, and now the opportunity to relay those feelings to young dancers progressing in the industry.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

Dance not only is a creative outlet, but it truly brings communities together. The COVID-19 pandemic has destroyed many communities in our country. Dance is a way of radiating and connecting our emotions with others. Dance puts a smile on my face, and it for sure can fix the brokenness we have during this pandemic.
