Isabella Lowell is a 9-year-old dancer from Terryville, Connecticut. She dances at Nutmeg PAC studio.

“…dance make[s] me stronger…it also enhances [my] self-esteem and makes me a better person.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

“Dance brightens up my day. It helps me to be physically fit and flexible. Dance enhances me to be focused and know time management and to be more structured. It helps me not only physically but also mentally and psychosocially. I meet lots of different people during conventions and competitions from all over and that helps me a lot. Not only does dance make me stronger but it also enhances self-esteem and makes me a better person.”

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

“Dance surely makes the community happier and closer. In our community, we have different occasions that we perform in the public and help raise funds for the community. We have annually our Holiday Showcase of Stars and we raise funds for our Catholic schools in the area. We also have [an] OM show that supports the Boys and Girls Club. Dance has a greater impact on building a happy and strong community.”
