“When I found dance, it gave me an outlet to just be a kid and let my talent shine without being seen as ‘the sick kid.’ Dance lets me be me!”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

I was diagnosed with a chronic disease when I was a little girl and spent a lot of time in the hospital away from my friends and family. When I found dance, it gave me an outlet to just be a kid and let my talent shine without being seen as “the sick kid.” Dance lets me be me!

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I want all kids to know that it doesn’t matter if you are different or chronically sick. There’s a place for you in the dance community. Just get out there and let yourself shine!
