Makeup is one of my favorite things to top off a look or complete a style. Whether it’s a smoky eye (sweat-proof, of course), fake lashes, and full stage makeup for a dance performance or competition, or a glowy contour, winged liner, and classic red lip for the runway at New York Fashion Week, I seem to always find myself in makeup! But aside from being glammed up for events, I also love just wearing a natural makeup look for the everyday runway– the street.

When it comes to makeup everyone has their own individual style. Here are the makeup items that are at the top of my must-have list for any makeup look! Come get ready with me!

Mascara

Even if I have no other makeup on, you can always find mascara on my eyes. Stay fierce and bold with some wispy lashes. You can even try colored mascara! I start at the root of my lash and zigzag the mascara brush upward to achieve a thick lash look. My favorite mascara is from MAC Cosmetics, but any brand will do the trick to give your lashes a lift!

Highlighter

This is probably my favorite part of doing my makeup every single time. Highlighter just adds such a beautiful glow to your face that reflects your inner glow! (Shine inside and out!) Add your highlighter to all the spots where the sunlight naturally hits your face. That means adding that shimmer to your cheekbones, the inner corner of your eyes, the tip of the nose, and your Cupid’s bow! Trust me, you can’t go wrong with a good highlighter!

Glitter

An essential. I always add some glitter on top of my highlighter just to feel a little extra sparkly! (And what dancer can resist glitter?) I truly believe you can never have too much sparkle in your life. It’s time to shine. #slay!

Lipstick

A red lip is everythinggg! And that color has been my go-to lately. It doesn’t matter if the shade is matte, shiny, metallic, ombré, or glitter. The color red makes a statement and will be sure to cement any look you add it to. A red lip is empowering!

Model Tip: Something I have learned being backstage at New York Fashion Week, don’t be afraid to try layering your lip colors to get the true lipstick shade of your dreams. Your lipstick can also double as a blush if you use a light touch and blend it out.
