While hip hop dancer Reese Hatala displays nothing but fierceness on the dance floor, in real life she’s a bubbly and giggly 10-year-old with big dreams and a whole lot of talent.

What do you like the most about hip hop?
I love the way hip hop makes me feel! I love how I connect with the music and all these feelings come out of my body!

What artists (dancers, singers, etc.) are you most influenced by?
I love artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga! I love that these ladies are strong influencers and amazing performers!

At times you might be the youngest dancer working on a project (since you’re so talented at such a young age). What’s the most challenging part about that?
Being one of the youngest kids on projects or on dance crews is challenging as I am consistently pushed to dance at my best! I love working with older kids, though, and because I’m the smallest I usually get to have a part where I’m featured or lifted!

Your older sister, Taylor Hatala, is mega talented too. What’s the best part about having a sister like Taylor?
The best part of having Taylor as my sister is that she constantly inspires me to work hard, challenge myself, and go for my dreams! Taylor and I love dancing and working together! We also are a little competitive and that helps me dance to my greatest potential.

What’s your dream career?
My dream is to one day dance with an artist on tour!

If you weren’t a dancer, what would you choose as a career?
If I wasn’t a dancer I would be a makeup artist! I love playing and experimenting with makeup!

What has been your favorite project that you’ve worked on so far?
My favorite job was when my sister Taylor and I danced together with Justin Bieber on his Purpose Tour in our hometown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! It was a dream come true!

What are your future plans?
I’m going to keep training and pushing myself in dance! I’m taking acting classes, too! My sister and I also have a few videos we are working on! 🙂 I’m just super passionate about inspiring young girls like me to go for your dreams! With hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself you can achieve anything you set your mind to!
