Unfortunately, there aren’t success potions and we can’t just wake up successful, but there are things we can do to get us there! Success is a path, not a mountain, and it’s easier than you think! You just need to exercise the right habits.

  1. Be Grateful – You are the instrument of your success, but there are always people lifting you up and encouraging you. Recognize this. Recognize them. Be thankful. These people are your motivators.
  2. Be Responsible – No one ever became successful by pushing their problems onto other people. Take responsibility for your actions, your mistakes, and your successes. People appreciate accountability.
  3. Be Forgiving – Being amazing comes with enough stress. There’s no sense in holding on to grudges. Forgive someone! You’ll both feel better.
  4. Learn – Don’t get set in your way. There is always something new to learn, so get out there and learn it! Who knows? It could be inspiring.
  5. Set Goals – Goals are so important! Set some! Just remember to set reasonable, manageable, trackable goals. Then go out and achieve them.

6. Change – The world is constantly changing. It is important to be able to adapt and change with it. Change is good! It challenges you! There’s nothing better than shaking things up a bit.

7. Compliment – Be successful, but be humble, too. There are people around you accomplishing amazing things right alongside you. Compliment you! Show them that you are just as impressed with your work as they are with yours.

8. Read – This doesn’t mean tweets! Read the paper, read a book, read a magazine. Give yourself access to things that will help you learn and give your brain some exercise.

9. Share – This could mean sharing ideas, opinions or just conversation. It might be tempting to isolate yourself to increase productivity, but being productive doesn’t have to be lonely. Collaborate!
